TLScontact Bishkek:
complete guide to Schengen applications.

Since July 2025 you no longer book through VFS Global for Schengen visas in Bishkek — TLScontact is the new operator. Different booking site, different visa centre, different fees, and no decent English-language guide exists. We've written one.

TLScontact is one of the two main visa application centre operators worldwide (the other is VFS Global). Since July 2025 they handle Schengen visa applications in Bishkek. An important point: changing the operator does not change consular requirements or your approval odds. The document list is the same, the embassy still makes the decision. What changes is only the service layer: where to book, who to pay, where to go.

What is TLScontact

TLScontact is a company of the Swiss TLS Group, operating in over 100 countries. They launched originally as the operator for French and German consulates, then expanded to dozens of EU countries. In Central Asia TLScontact has been active for years — in Almaty, Tashkent, Astana. Bishkek is the latest expansion.

Which countries go through TLScontact in Bishkek

As of May 2026, most Schengen-country applications in Bishkek go through TLScontact, including:

  • Germany — tourist, business, study, family visas
  • France — all Schengen visa types
  • Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal

The country list is updated. Spain and Italy may operate through a different provider or directly through the embassy. Always check visas.tlscontact.com or the specific consulate website before booking — don't waste money on the wrong slot.

Step-by-step process: from registration to passport

  • Step 1 — Register on the site. Go to visas.tlscontact.com → select your destination country and Bishkek. If you don't have an account, create one. Your VFS account does not transfer here.
  • Step 2 — Book an appointment. Select a convenient date and time. In peak season (May–August) slots fill 2–3 weeks out — book early.
  • Step 3 — Prepare your documents. The list hasn't changed: passport, application form, photo, insurance, financial documents, travel itinerary. The operator doesn't change what the consulate requires.
  • Step 4 — Attend the centre. Arrive 10–15 minutes early. The operator accepts your documents, takes biometrics if needed, and issues a receipt with a tracking number.
  • Step 5 — Track your application. Via your account on the TLScontact website or by SMS. Processing time: standard 14–30 working days depending on the consulate.
  • Step 6 — Collect your passport. In person at the centre or by courier delivery (additional fee).

What hasn't changed

Changing operators doesn't affect anything substantial: document requirements — same Schengen standards, biometrics — if you gave them at VFS within the past 5 years they're stored in the EU database and don't need to be repeated, visa decision — still made by the embassy. TLScontact is just the 'window' between you and the consulate.

Common mistakes when switching to TLScontact

  • Trying to book through the old VFS account — vfsglobal.com no longer works for these countries. You need a separate registration at visas.tlscontact.com.
  • Wrong country or city when selecting — make sure you've selected Kyrgyzstan → Bishkek.
  • Booking a slot before your documents are ready — slot taken, documents not ready, you have to reschedule and lose your place in the queue.
  • Paying only the consular fee — the TLScontact service fee is separate and mandatory.
  • Arriving late — arriving more than 15 minutes late usually means your slot is cancelled. Rebook from scratch.
Let us handle it

aMIRa Visa handles the TLScontact booking, prepares the full document package, and monitors your application status. You only come to the centre for biometrics — once, at the right time. First 20 minutes free.
